This Privacy Policy describes how Arti Digital("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at artidigital.xyz and when merchants install and use our Shopify app, Order Docs Studio.
1. Arti Digital website
Information we collect
When you contact us through our website, we collect information you provide, including your name, email address, company name, and message content. We may also collect standard analytics data such as pages visited, browser type, device type, and referring URL.
How we use it
We use this information to respond to inquiries, provide our services, improve our website, and communicate with you about projects and updates you have requested.
2. Order Docs Studio (Shopify app)
Order Docs Studio is a Shopify embedded app that helps merchants design branded invoice and packing slip PDFs, print documents from Shopify Admin, and optionally email PDFs to customers after purchase. This section applies when you install or use the app on a Shopify store.
Information we collect
When a merchant installs the app, we receive and store information necessary to operate the service, including:
- Shop and account data — Shopify store domain, OAuth access tokens, app session data, subscription plan status, and basic staff user details provided by Shopify during authentication (such as name and email).
- App configuration — template designs, branding settings, locale preferences, tax display settings, email automation settings, and optional merchant SMTP configuration entered in the app.
- Order and customer data — order details accessed through Shopify APIs with the permissions granted at install, including order numbers, line items, prices, taxes, fulfillment status, and customer information needed to generate documents (such as names, billing and shipping addresses, and email addresses). Access to certain customer fields may require Shopify Protected Customer Data approval.
- Generated documents — PDF files we create from order data, along with metadata such as order ID, document type, and storage references.
- Operational logs — limited technical logs related to app performance, errors, PDF generation, email delivery, and webhook processing.
How we use app information
We use merchant and order data solely to:
- Authenticate merchants and provide the embedded app experience
- Render document previews and generate invoice and packing slip PDFs
- Enable printing and download from Shopify Admin and within the app
- Send automated emails to customers when enabled by the merchant (Premium feature)
- Manage billing and subscription status through Shopify Billing
- Maintain, secure, and improve the app
We do not sell merchant or customer personal information. We do not use order or customer data for advertising or unrelated marketing purposes.
Merchant responsibilities
If you are a merchant using Order Docs Studio, you are the data controller for your customers' personal information. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use customer data, providing appropriate privacy notices to your customers, and configuring the app (including auto-email and SMTP settings) in compliance with applicable laws.
Third-party service providers
We use trusted infrastructure and service providers to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to deliver the service:
- Shopify — app platform, OAuth, Admin APIs, billing, and webhooks
- Neon Postgres — app database for sessions, shop settings, templates, and document metadata
- Cloudflare R2 — storage for generated PDF files
- Inngest — background processing for PDF generation and email jobs
- Resend — transactional email delivery when the merchant uses the default sending option
- Merchant SMTP providers — when a merchant configures their own email server (such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365), emails are sent through that provider using credentials supplied by the merchant
- Vercel — application hosting
Merchant SMTP passwords are stored server-side and are not returned to the client application after being saved.
Data retention and deletion
We retain app data for as long as the app remains installed on a merchant's store and as needed to provide the service. When a merchant uninstalls the app, we delete associated shop records, templates, settings, session data, and document metadata from our database. Generated PDF files stored in object storage are deleted or made inaccessible as part of this cleanup process.
Operational logs may be retained for a limited period for security, troubleshooting, and compliance purposes before being deleted or anonymized.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure credential handling. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
3. Data sharing (all services)
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with the service providers listed above, or when required to comply with law, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights and safety of Arti Digital, our users, or others.
4. International data transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
5. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Merchants can uninstall Order Docs Studio from their Shopify store at any time to stop further data collection through the app.
If you are a customer of a Shopify merchant, please contact that merchant directly regarding their use of your personal information. Merchants may contact us for assistance with app-related data requests.
6. Children's privacy
Our website and apps are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of our website or apps after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
